"The owner of this channel has removed itself from the DirecTV lineup despite our repeated requests to keep it on. Please visit directvpromise.comfor the latest and most accurate information on this station's return."

"In order to serve our viewers, WAFF has in place agreements with the cable and satellite companies that bring our station to your home. In fact, WAFF has such agreements in place with every TV provider in our area.
"Unfortunately, we have been unable to reach an Agreement with DirecTV.

particularly disappointing because all the other TV providers in our area have Agreements with us and those Agreements are fundamentally similar to the one we have been negotiating with DirecTV.
As a result, DirecTV customers no longer can view WAFF on the DirecTV system."
The WAFF statementgoes on to list a phone number for DirecTV customer service for viewers to "voice your concern," as well as numbers to switch to DirecTV competitors offering TV service in the area, including Comcast, WOW!, Dish andfor free over the air via an antenna.
WAFF is owned by Raycom Media, a Montgomery-based broadcasting company which owns and/or provides services for 53 television stations in 37 markets and 18 states.
NBC is home to programs including "Saturday Night Live," "Sunday Night Football," "Parks and Recreation" and "The Blacklist."
UPDATED: Sept. 2, 2014 at 8:35 a.m. to include the option of using an over-the-air antenna to receive programming at no additionalcost.
